Our client is looking to fill an urgent position of Technical Officer (Wind/ Solar Power). The incumbent will be in charge for promotion of solar/wind power related products technology across the group. 

The ideal candidate will be Diploma in Electrical/Electronics or Telecommunication Engineering with preferably introductory experience in Solar/wind Power Technology.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications required:

  • Minimum academic qualification: Diploma in Electrical/Electronics or Telecommunication Engineering
  • Qualifications as an added advantage: Knowledge of related equipments, instruments and circuit diagnosis

Experience required:

  • General work experience (years): Minimum 3-5 years
  • Specific to the position (level/discipline/years): Preferably introductory experience in Solar/wind Power Technology

Key competencies and skills:

  • To have knowledge of basic equipments/instruments 
  • Hands on related field work execution

Language requirements:

  • English
  • Swahili

Personality profile:

  • Preferably 25-30 years.  Prepared to work in field during odd hours if required and leadership to guide/train his Team members (contracted workers).
Job Description

Main purpose of the position:

  • To identify commercially viable products
  • To understand technicalities and training Business Units Team across the Group
  • To promote/market these products through existing Group Units networks

Reporting in to this position (designation and level)

  • Routine/Direct: Pre-identified vendors/suppliers
  • Functional/Indirect: Group Units designated staff

Key responsibilities:

  • To understand Techno/Commercial viability of Solar/Wind Power proposals
  • To evaluate/approve the quality of hardware ordered
  • To supervise installation of such products and ensure after sale service
  • To train Group Units staff for adopting Pre-identified/tested Technology
