Desired Candidate Profile

Knowledge and Skills Required


  • Understanding of the relevant markets & value drivers pertaining to coil products.
  • Understanding domestic and international economic, political and commercial competitive environments
  • Knowledge in international trade, marketing concepts, strategy development/deployment and commercial processes/practices
  • Understanding marketing principles in detail including Segment Value Propositions and Brand marketing.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and planning skills
  • Good leadership and strong conflict management skills
  • Good networking skills
  • Good computer skills



Minimum Qualifications and Experience Requirements

  • A Business, Marketing or Commercial degree from a recognized university, a Masters in Business Administration would be an advantage
  • 7 years experience in marketing in a related industry, of which 3 years should have been on a managerial level
  • Experience across East African steel markets.


Additional/specific work requirements:

  • Business acumen and product knowledge essential
  • Willingness to work long hours when required
  • Must be ready to travel frequently
Job Description
  • To manage our marketing function for Domestic and Export customers for Group and non Group customers, including all influencing communities (specifiers, architects, developers).
  • Develop, implement and maintain Segment based Value Propositions, marketing strategies, plans and processes to generate revenue growth for the company.
  • To oversee all marketing, branding, advertising, merchandising and promotional staff activities for Coils in line with local and Safal Group plans (and working jointly with MRM Roofing Marketing team).
  • To identify and develop new market segments for coated products including market analysis, competitor profiles, product profiles and segment marketing plans. To work cross-functionally in ensuring new product development implementation and broad organizational understanding of key market drivers and needs.
