Desired Candidate Profile

General work experience (years):          

15 – 20 years general working experience.

Specific to the position (level/discipline/years):

At least 12 years marketing experience, of which at least 5 should be at a group marketing level.

Industry Experience:

  • Industrial/Manufacturing
  • Preferably, not from the steel industry.

  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Excellent planning, co-ordination and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Good business literacy and acumen.
  • Extensive management experience.

Job Description
  • Develop and implement a Group Marketing Strategy in alignment with Group Business VMOS.
  • To advise operational Marketing Managers to cascade Group Marketing Strategy after appropriate customization.
  • Develop plans for advertising and marketing of the Group’s products to raise the Group’s market profile, brand equity, and increase sales.
  • Direct and manage the organization of promotional activities, ensuring that they are carried out efficiently, and within agreed budgets, to raise the profile of the Group and increase sales.
  • Direct, coordinate and manage all Group’s marketing plans and activities with other marketing managers and staff in the Group to ensure that the plans are delivered effectively.
  • Direct and manage the Group’s marketing budget for marketing activities through the operational marketing teams.
  • Manage all internal and external requests for the development and provision of promotional activities.
  • Develop, co-ordinate and maintain stock of promotional material for issue to Group’s staff and customers.
  • Arrange visits and hospitality for senior customers and others to promote the image of the Group and its products.
  • Direct and manage the Group’s newsletter and all other internal communications.
  • Direct and manage and maintain the Group website.
  • Direct and manage and maintain all Groups’ branding and associated activities.
  • Manage and co-ordinate the recruitment, selection, and development of suitably qualified marketing managers in the operations in conjunction with the relevant business head.
  • Develop and manage a Group Marketing Knowledge Center where all press releases, competitor information and marketing articles can be stored and accessed electronically.
  • Manage the articulation of product and service offerings and key benefits to be utilised by sales and marketing teams.
  • Leverage the Group’s business competitiveness by developing competitive intelligence, appropriate market research and consumer behavior techniques.
  • Develop and implement product management and drive product and market leadership in collaboration with Sales Department.
